‘A Sense of Delicacy’ can be seen as the story of Everyman. The first dramatization of one of Chekhov’s best comic stories written when he was still a young man, this is one of those countless holiday stories in which bachelor men are placed in very uncomfortable and delicate situations.

Mihai’s most recent stage appearance was at the Edric Hall Theatre of the London South Bank University on 29 January 2009, in a play reading of ‘Bucharest Underground’ by Saviana Stanescu and Toma Enache, which was supported by the Ratiu Foundation / Romanian Cultural Centre in London.

Actor Mihai Arsene was born in Pitesti, Romania. He studied Performing Arts at the University of Craiova, where he graduated in 2001. Just before graduation, he was awarded The Best Actor Award for the role Mr. Bogoiu in "The Holiday Game" by Mihail Sebastian, which was part of the Student Actor Festival in Iasi, Romania. Shortly after graduating his performance in Mangalia, Romania, as The Teacher in "The Lesson" by Eugene Ionesco (another one-man show) earned him a Participating Internship at the International Festival of Avignon, as part of The "HOP" Young Actor's Gala. Mihai then joined the National Theatre of Craiova. With 15 years of experience as a stage actor, Mihai Arsene now lives in England, where he hopes to continue a successful artistic career.

Director Veronica Lazar was born in Rimnicu Valcea, Romania. She started a career in education, but very soon it became clear to her that her passion lay somewhere else: in the theatre. She worked in Romania as Assistant Artistic Director to the late Vlad Mugur, assisting him on his last four productions. In 2001, after his sudden death, she continued to work on his production of ‘Hamlet’ at the National Theatre of Cluj-Napoca and the Opening Night proceeded as scheduled. She is making her debut in the West End as the Producer, Director and Designer of ‘A Sense of Delicacy’.
