London Russian Art Week
The London Russian Film Festival may be over, but another exciting series of events is about to begin. Russian Art Week starts on 22 November and will feature an exciting range of events, exhibitions and auctions.
The Saatchi gallery will be opening two new exhibitions entitled ‘Breaking the Ice: Moscow Arts 1960-1980s’ and ‘Gaiety is the Most Outstanding Feature of the Soviet Union’, showcasing new artists from Russia along with more well-known individuals. Other highlights look set to include an exhibition of Alexander Brodsky’s ‘White Room / Black Room’ at the Calvert 22 Foundation and, on 25 November, a day at Pushkin House displaying Soviet and Russian porcelain, art and collectibles.
For those interested in becoming more actively involved in the Russian art scene, auctions and sales of paintings, manuscripts and icons will be taking place at the prestigious venues of Christie’s, MacDougall’s, Bonhams and Sotheby’s.
