A gripping new Russian thriller, starring Sergei Svetlakov. A seven year old is abducted from his rich father's shopping mall. The kidnapper's terms are simple: in 24 hours time, either the son dies or the father does. Based on the novel "Not to Live" by Novosibirsk author Yury Brigadir.
"A curious combination of the obvious and the subtle makes the film stylish, entertaining and aesthetically pleasing" Ruskino
Vyacheslav Kaminsky “Orphan” is the director’s first feature length film. A VGIK graduate, Kaminsky only started on his career as a director relatively recently, but his strong debut film has been well received by critics and the public alike. Particular successful has been the unlikely casting of famous Russian comic actor Sergei Svetlakov as a violent kidnapper.
Sergei Svetlakov A famous actor and tv presenter, loved by Russian audiences for his roles as Ivan Dulin and Snezhana Denisovna in Nasha Russia and co-hosting the comedy show "Projector Paris Hilton", Svetlakov takes a new direction in the leading role in Orphan - and to great effect.
