As a special Christmas/New Year treat, KinoKlub is showing not one, but TWO films this January!
Opening on the 7th, Russian Christmas, and presented by a very special secret guest, the first January KinoKlub film is the UK premiere of Yolki 2012 / Ёлки 2. Featuring a star studded cast including Ivan Urgant, Sergei Svetlakov and Vera Brezhneva, Yolki 2012 is a wonderful heartfelt film made up of six intertwined story lines full of festive cheer to enjoy with your family and celebrate Russian Christmas and the New Year.
"We’re all brothers. Well, okay, not all. Some of us are sisters. One way or another, once a year we all become startlingly alike. And wherever we are, be it in Khabarovsk, Petersburg or Astana, on 31 December, we are all as one. We rush to buy that forgotten present, send out group texts, buy clementines, decorate the Christmas tree, make our Olivier salads, turn on the tv - and all in aid of what? For that one second, that last chime of the clock, when we all, well, almost all, believe in the miracle of New Year like little kids!"
