Read Russia!
Books From Russia at BookExpo America
23 - 26 May 2011
2011 was the second year the official Russian stand took part in BookExpo, America's largest and primary book fair. This year the Russian stand was a preview of Read Russia! - Global Market Forum: Russia, BookExpo America 2012. Organised by the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications, in association with Academia Rossica, the stand offered US publishers the chance to discover Russia's dynamic publishing market in advance of next year's in depth programme. It presented Russia's best new books, key publishers, information about translation grants, including the Russkiy Mir grants, and other opportunities for international collaboration. Over 30 Russian publishers participated in this year's stand - see the full list here. The stand also featured presentations from the Boris Yeltsin Center, Russkaya Premiya and the Debut Prize.
