As the capital of Russia is celebrating its 20th year of extensive publishing activities, two presentations were organised as a key part of the Russian Stand events programme at the London Book Fair. The “Moscow: City of Books” presentation on the opening day of the fair addressed the general mission of the City of Moscow Publishing Programmes, while on 12 April a magnificent book on the history and life of the Moscow Kremlin was presented at the Russian Pavilion.

The main aim of the Publishing Programs is to facilitate the production of a wide range of publications for varied readerships that not only reflects the diversity of Moscow’s cultural, scientific and social life, but also, by maintaining the best traditions and legacy of previous generations, helps to preserve national treasures and allows readers to acquire a more complete understanding of themselves as people and feel like true Muscovites.

The print and multi-media works produced as part of the Publishing Programmes financed from the city budget are donated to the city in order to meet its needs, helping the running of socially significant events aimed at supporting education, science, culture, art, and intellectual and spiritual development.
