Translation Community
Encourging, promoting and stimulating literary translation from Russian into English is a central focus of Academia Rossica's work. Alongside the Rossica Translation Prize, the Rossica Young Translators Prize and the Translation Grants that we offer, Academia Rossica is also trying to cultivate and co-ordinate links between translators, publishers, writers and potential audiences. We are often approached by publishers seeking recommendations of good translators - as well as translators who are looking for projects with which to get involved. In an effort to meet this need and further link together those who devote themselves to the task of making Russian literature accessible to an English audience, we are compiling a database of active Russian-English translators across the English speaking world.
